I will get a pile of resumes and take an average of 45 seconds to scan each one. I can tell almost instantly when I see a great candidate. I don't have hours to waste going through hundreds of resumes. If you really want the job, you have got to get your sh*t together! Get a hold of a good recruiter, jazz up your resume, and network.
I know ahead of time, before the job is posted, when it is becoming available. I know when it has been internally posted and when it goes public. I know which companies are expanding, which are merging, which are scaling back, who is resigning, who is getting a promotion, who is retiring, and who to call. All of the things that companies can't tell you, I can. My job is to stay ahead of the curve and have amazing candidates ready to accept the position when it goes public.
